A Journey into the Northern Mystery Traditions
The Northern Spiritual Tradition refers to the pre-Christian Heathen spirituality of Northern Europe, the Germanic, Scandinavian, Icelandic and Anglo-Saxon branches of our ancestral pagan roots.
This five-night immersive retreat invites you to explore this tradition through one of two pathways:
• Rune Wisdom & Divination
• Shamanic Journeying within the Norse World Tree
Both retreats include five nights’ accommodation with brvvxcxxasdbh,hwgerpqeakfast and 8 hours of experiential teaching and guided practice. They may be taken one-to-one or in a small group of up to four participants.
Option One
The Five-Night Rune Wisdom Retreat
This retreat introduces you to the divinatory and transformational power of the Runes — sacred symbols revealed in Norse mythology through Odin’s initiation upon the World Tree.
Runes are more than tools for divination.
They are carriers of energy — cosmic mysteries that can be meditated with, channelled and used for healing.
You will explore:
• The myth of Odin and the discovery of the Runes
• The concept of Wyrd — the web of cause and effect shaping your life
• Ethical rune reading
• Three-rune and five-rune layouts
• Energetic grounding and protection practices
• Rune meditation and sound work
• Optional rune-making ritual
For individual participants, the retreat may include a Runic Body Reading*, combining divination and healing to explore energetic strengths and blockages across the chakras.
For groups, we may explore the runic meanings within your given names, creating personalised sound meditations for transformational intent.
Notes and study materials are provided to support integration.
Option Two
Exploring the Norse World Tree
A Five-Night Shamanic Journeying Retreat
At the heart of the Northern Tradition stands the World Tree, the cosmic structure holding the Nine Worlds of Norse mythology.
This retreat supports you in journeying through selected realms of the World Tree to receive guidance, healing and expanded awareness.
You will explore:
• The three-level structure of the Tree
• The flow of Wyrd — the animating life force
• The Great Norns, guardians of destiny
• Journeys to Asgard, Hel, Vanaheim and other mythic realms
• Encounters with archetypal forces such as Odin, Freyja, the Dwarves, Elves and Giants
This retreat is experiential and guided by drum-led journeying practice.
Participants ideally have some experience of shamanic journeying.
